New Character Classes/Races
This page contains four things: new player character races, new
character classes, and modifications of the Oriental Adventures,
Player's Handbook, and Unearthed Arcana character classes to fit into
a "Unified" Oriental/Occidental setting and absorb important new
advances from the 2nd Edition (along with a few of my own spices).
New Character Races
- Centauri
- This is a generic term for half-humanoid / half-quadraped. There
are actually three new sub-races:
Centaurs (man/horse),
Hybsil (pixie/antelope),
Wemic (man/lion)
- Semi-Demons
- This covers a variety of human/demon breeds, primarily the
ofspring of infernal couplings. There are two varieties:
Alu-demons and
Cambion demons
- Elves
- There are two new elven subraces:
Snow Elves are a relative of the Gray
Elf. Primarily a dweller of high moutain plains, this subrace is
somewhat analogous to the Tartars of northern Russia.
Aquatic Elves are an underwater
race of elves, related to land elves in the same manner mermen are
related to men.
- Verbeeg giants
- These are the smallest of giants, often known as human
behemoths.
- Half-Ogres
- Bastard children of a human and an ogre, these are generally
powerful, but dumb and ugly. And you thought a half-orc was bad...
- Merman
- An underwater race of men that has grown gills and modified feet
an hands.
New Character Classes
- Istari
- And idea taken from J.R.R. Tolkien, the istari are a highly
potent warrior-wizard class for human. Somewhat similar to the
fighter/mage of the various demi-human races, this class has enough
unique differences to warrant an entirely new class, rather getting
lumped in with the dual-class fighter/mage.
